Security flaw in Safari’s RSS feeds reported

Posted on 15 January, 2009 by Jimmy Liew

If you use Safari to read RSS feeds, do grab another RSS feed reader and set Safari’s preference to use another RSS feed reader as a software engineer found a vulnerability in Safari for Mac and Windows that could compromise a user’s files and passwords if successfully exploited. Though no details were given by Brian Mastenbrook, the software engineer said that the vulnerability was reported to Apple and Apple acknowledged the problem.

Before Apple release an update to Safari, do set the preference for the default RSS reader to another application other than Safari to safeguard your privacy.
