Have multiple Macs? Check out ScreenRecycler and Teleport
We know that once you have your first Mac, the second one will be there in due time. Best of all, your Macs will last for a while and having them seating on your desk, gathering dust is not the best way to use them.
Here are two apps that you can use to extend the use of your multiple Macs, in two different ways.

First is ScreenRecycler – the app gives you the ability to increase screen real-estate by tricking your main Mac to believe that the second screen is connected, even though both computers are link over a VNC connection. This meant that it will work even if your secondary computer is a Windows PC.
To make it to work, you install ScreenRecycler on your main Mac, and then a supported VNC client on your secondary computer, and then configure both computers for the connection to work. Once the connection is up, you can manage the additional screen via System Preference as if a secondary monitor is connected.
As the connection is via VNC, do expect the quality and the responsiveness of the secondary screen to be slightly on the low side, especially if you are connected wirelessly. It will definitely work well when you use the secondary screen for less-intense applications like a Twitter client, or the toolbars for your applications.
Best thing is that you can easily increase your screen real estate without having to have a piece of hardware with dual graphics connection or buying a secondary screen.

A single license for ScreenRecycler costs US$24.95 and can be bought at their website. In the mean time, download the trial to have a go at it.
Another application that works well with multiple Macs is teleport from Julien Robert. What teleport allows you to do is to control multiple Macs with just one set of keyboard and mouse – you just need to move your mouse to the edge of the screen for you to take control of the next Mac. You can also configure it to synchronize your pasteboard data and also drag and drop files between Macs.
With teleport, your table top will be less of a mess with one less set of keyboard and mouse and it can also be useful for an April’s Fool prank on your work mate’s Mac. So far it works pretty well between an iMac and my MacBook Pro at work though the MacBook Pro’s keyboard stopped working after I stop teleport, requiring a reboot before it worked again.

teleport is available for FREE and can be downloaded at abyssoft.com. If you like it, do make a donation to Julien.
