While we wait for local Telcos to announce pre-ordering for the iPhone 4, back in the US, there are growing concerns over antenna issues on the iPhone 4 that is like a tick at the back of Apple’s back which never stop gnawing at them. They have released an update to iOS 4.0.1 that sort of fix how signal strength is reported on the iPhone 4 and later tonight, they will have a press conference to address the iPhone 4, and probably other things. The press conference will start at 1am (SG time) tonight and we’ll be up following this announcement.
Here are some sites where you can follow the press conference live:
- Follow Jason Snell and Macworld’s coverage
- Engadget’s live coverage
- Arstechnica’s live coverage
- TWiT Live – they might have audio feed…
In a way, this is good for the rest of the world which are getting the iPhone 4 late, like us. Whatever problems there might be, hopefully by the time it reaches our shore, those are fixed.
Let’s wait and see.
In the mean time, you can update your iPhone with the iOS 4 update (details here) that will fix the signal strength display. For those with iPad, there is also a iOS 3 update (details here) that improves the WiFi issues plus other bug fixes.
