Just a filler before we get back to hopefully more-regular postings…
This was self-written and recorded live in the NYC Apple Store by Ray William Johnson of Fatty Spins. Not the first and definitely not the last to record stuff in those funky Apple Stores in the US. Have a look at the raw footage if you thought it was green-screened.
Doubt you can try it here in town as most only provide restricted access to the Macs on display in Apple resellers.
Apple recently released four new Get a Mac ads that again pokes fun at Microsoft. The four ads – Biohazard Suit, Legal Copy, Stacks and Time Traveler – puts a funny twist to the age old Mac vs PC rivalry.
Go take a look and see why most people prefer these ads than those from Microsoft.
This viral video shot for Microsoft Office for Mac is done by Dennis Liu, who did this video on his Mac which became quite a hit on the Web.
Liu says he got interest pretty high up the Apple corporate ladder from that video, but “Microsoft actually took my music video video very seriously, and we decided to collaborate on a viral video for Microsoft Office for Mac.” (via Cult of Mac)
The video shows you various “techniques” you can do while in office to pretend to work, all the time using various apps from the Microsoft Office suit.
Just for the fun of it, here’s the video “Again & Again” by the Bird & the Bee done by Dennis Liu.
Man I am amazed by his enthusiasm and energy doing that dance, and at all times with that smile on his face. Go Woz!
Here’s an amazing live performance of a cover of MGMT’s Kids done on iPhones and iPod Touch by The Mentalists. Wonder when we’ll see a full live orchestra all on the iPhone/iPod Touch?
The apps they used for the show are Ocarina (iTunes Link), Retro Synth (iTunes Link), miniSynth (iTunes Link) and DigiDrummer Lite (iTunes Link).

Manchester United secured their second domestic trophy after overcoming Tottenham Hotspurs 4-1 on penalty at the Carling Cup Final. Hero of the day was United keeper Ben Foster who helped secure the win by blocking out Spurs’ first spot kick by Jamie O’Hara. The keeper was spot on when he dived to his left and pushed the ball out, giving United the edge which they hung on for the trophy.

With technology becoming more important in getting the edge over opponents in competitions, the mobility and the multimedia capability of the iPod played a part in Manchester United achieving their latest success.
“I did a bit of research for the penalties,” said the 25-year-old. “We tried to find out everything we could about Spurs beforehand and, just before the shoot-out, I was looking at a video on an iPod with Eric Steele, our goalkeeping coach, and Edwin. It’s a new innovation he’s brought in since coming to the club and on it were some of Tottenham’s penalties, including one from O’Hara. I was told that, if he was taking one, to stay as big as I can. Edwin hasn’t got a bad record with penalties and he just told me to be as intimidating as possible. I stood up for as long as I could, and it is great it worked out for me.”
Just another fine example of how the ubiquitous iPod is being used in the world besides just for listening to music and watching videos.

Image and then a video of a possible look at the rumored new Mac mini that is stacked with 5 USB 2 ports, a Firewire 800 port, mini DVI and Mini DisplayPort. The rumored specs of the new Mac mini is a 2GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB of DDR3 ram and SATA HD…
And a video to go with that…
Whichever it is, many are looking forward to new hardware from Apple in the coming months…keep a look out for them.
… and may you recover and kick some asses again soon! FYI, Steve Jobs’ birthday was couple of days back – 24 February, 1955 to be exact.
Instead of Marilyn Monroe singing the birthday tune, let iJustine do the honors. I absolutely loves the expression of the old man behind Justine while she sang.
… is something not for the faint hearted, especially when your iPhone is minty fresh from the box.
Flunky Carter filmed his iPhone through night vision, probably hoping to recreate a bit of Blair Witch Project and probably gave himself a fright with all the unsighted cracks and stress fractures on his iPhone.
This is what my iPhone looks like underneath the Night Vision. I was surprised to see all the stress and cracks around the edges, especially around the lens, since none of those are visible under regular light. You can see right through the case to the skeleton of the iPhone… kreepiez
Kreepiez indeed – see for yourself below.

25 years and one day ago, Apple put up the famous 1984 ad, just days before the launch of the first Macintosh. The ad was lauded by many as a masterpiece and with its theme of the underdog’s battle with Big Brother, became a signature representation of Apple computers over the years.
It was aired once and only once on 22 January 1984 during the Super Bowl XVIII and two days later on 22 January, Apple introduced the Macintosh. Prior to that, Steve Jobs introduced this ad at a keynote with this passage:
It is now 1984. It appears IBM wants it all. Apple is perceived to be the only hope to offer IBM a run for its money. Dealers initially welcoming IBM with open arms now fear an IBM dominated and controlled future. They are increasingly turning back to Apple as the only force that can ensure their future freedom. IBM wants it all and is aiming its guns on its last obstacle to industry control: Apple. Will Big Blue dominate the entire computer industry? The entire information age? Was George Orwell right?
